Privacy Policy

When you use Apprendr we may collect:

• Account information — your name, email address, and profile picture from Google Sign-In.
• Usage data — the French text you submit for translation, the translations returned, and credit usage.
• Technical data — IP address, browser type, and approximate location (country/region) for analytics and abuse prevention.
• Preferences — your selected French level, stored locally in your browser.

We use your data to:

• Provide and improve the translation service.
• Personalise translations to your French level.
• Track daily credit usage and reset it at midnight.
• Understand aggregate usage patterns via Google Analytics.
• Prevent abuse and enforce usage limits.

We do not sell your data to third parties.

We use Google OAuth to authenticate you. We receive your email, display name, and profile picture. We do not access your Google Drive, Gmail, or any other Google service beyond basic profile information.

Google's use of your data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Text you submit for translation is sent to OpenAI's API to generate results. OpenAI's use of API data is governed by their Privacy Policy. By default, OpenAI does not use API inputs to train models.

Translation history is stored in our backend for your personal review. It is associated with your account and visible only to you.

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the Service is used in aggregate. This includes page views, feature usage, and general location data. No personally identifiable information is shared with analytics.

Your account and translation history are retained while your account is active. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us via the feedback option in the dashboard.

Authentication tokens are stored in secure, short-lived cookies. We use HTTPS for all data in transit. Our backend runs on Google Cloud Run with standard security controls.

The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

We may update this Policy. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, for material changes, notify you via the app.
